Discovering the Web has become easier, more interesting and perhaps a lot more smarter than what it was a few years ago. StumbleUpon, a discovery engine has just made the process of surfing a little more addictive by announcing a free app for iPhone (News - Alert) and Android users.
The free app allows users to explore the best of the Web at anytime they want regardless of where they actually are. Discovering and sharing cool content is now just a click away.
The new StumbleUpon app is optimized for the mobile discovery experience and uses the same personalized recommendation technology users would encounter using their personal computer or iPad. Using the thumb up and down facility, users can move in and out of sites as they like and can also save certain preferences for their next session.
Just as users would Google (News - Alert) to find a particular site or category, users can narrow down their choices, or if they prefer to do so, they can browse and surf the net in a random manner. Best-in-breed content sites like Flickr and YouTube are also at their fingertips.
The free app is available for download from Apple's (News - Alert) iTunes store or through the Android Market.
StumbleUpon is a discovery engine that finds the best of the Web, optimied for each user. With over 15 billion stumbles to date, over 10 million users and 600 million personalized recommendations per month, StumbleUpon is the leading way to discover great, peer-sourced content on the Internet.
