IPhone -Blancspot Media Gives iPhone and iPod Touch Users Something to 'Think About'

Apple's iPhone (News - Alert) and iPod touch just got a little nippier with the launching of a new social news app that provides an entertaining and objective view of global events. Announcing the launch, Blancspot Media LLC, a social news network, said that the service was available through the App store for a one-time fee of $2.99.

The novel app helps users to connect with friends and communities and discuss the topics that they find interesting.

Blancspot has gone beyond the purview of merely reporting news, and provides quick, snappy stories

that are entertaining and informative. This rather engaging framework helps iPhone and iPod users to get involved in the pulse of the day's top stories and share opinions with friends and family.

"We created Blancspot to offer a news experience that is visually stunning and socially relevant, and that will engage its audience by creating a more positive way to consume and share media," founder and CEO Camille LeBlanc, said.

LeBlanc said that Blancspot was thrilled to join the efforts to make media platforms a more beautiful and elegant place to learn, share and take part in the world around us, by providing a window through which the digital users could view the world around them

As a modern alternative for the delivery of real-time information, Blancspot uses especially compelling images as starters and creates a cinematic capture of real world events. It also makes it a point to highlight pressing issues of the hour and allows users to interact through Twitter or Facebook (News - Alert)

Another wonderful thing about the Blancspot service is that it breaks down complex topics into simple, easy-to-understand bits, making it non- intimidating. By providing links to relevant causes and volunteer sites, it helps users to acquaint themselves with everything that is going on around them.

By delivering balanced content, Blancspot allows users to form opinions of their own and act if they chose to. All news is instant, visual, interactive and participatory.

Blancspot Media LLC, a privately held, privately financed company headquartered in San Francisco, CA (News - Alert), was founded in 2009 by Camille LeBlanc, co-founder and former CEO of Roubini Global Economics, a leading macroeconomic information service and strategy firm.
