IPhone -Matrix iPhone App Lets Users Make VoIP Calls, Send SMS Messages over IP


Matrix Knowledge Management Pty Ltd. reportedly announced the launch of a new application that will enable iPhone users to make VoIP calls and send SMS messages over IP.
 
Company officials said that the V Phone is more enhanced when compared to other VoIP software. It does not lock iPhone (News - Alert) users into working with a single VoIP provider, but lets them select multiple providers for enabling voice calling features.
 
V Phone (News - Alert) is the SIP client of VoIP software that can be downloaded to the mobile handset of the user who can enjoy the full benefits of value services of mobile VoIP. This mobile phone software platform is composed of a broad range of applications and libraries including telephony, delivering fully-integrated functionalities to mobile handsets or smartphones.
 
Matrix sources said that the V Phone employs Internet connectivity to route calls and SMS. This implies that users can access these services using the Internet through their service providers free of charge as these are transmitted as small data packets. Dedicated and continued access to voice call and SMS service is assured at low rates via 3G and Wi-Fi.
 
The V Phone goes beyond single provider protocol and lets users choose a cost effective provider for each task. This feature is unique and also V Phone app is an ‘open and configurable’ app which offers SMS messaging over IP.
 
The V Phone’s SMS features include two standard VoIP provider networks besides including an option for entering the user’s own provider of choice. The app’s VoIP calls and text messaging options works with Wi-Fi providing the necessary coverage without using a SIM card. iPhone users can also make 3G/GPRS/HSDPA VoIP calls, company sources said.
 
Matrix sources also said that the V Phone features an intuitive and attractive graphical user interface and can be installed easily by following some simple steps. It lets users save a lot of money and leverage the capabilities of their mobile phones to the fullest extent.
 
The company has released a video on You Tube demonstrating to iPhone users the usability and easy configuration and use of the app. Matrix has submitted the app to Apple (News - Alert) for approval and expects that the new app will be available on the Apple App Store within two to three weeks.
