Multicast Media Technologies, Inc., a provider of live event broadcasting, Internet video and targeted multimedia communication services has reportedly
announced that it is going to add live streaming and on-demand video capabilities for the
iPhone and iPod Touch to its hosted Multicast Media Suite solution.
The company offers live Internet broadcasts and on-demand video solutions, and has become the first online video platform provider ever providing a comprehensive set of technologies that will let users transcode, manage, deliver and display content on the iPhone (

Alert). The new version of Multicast Media Suite solution also offers the companies new channels of communication for delivering interactive rich media content directly to their staff, prospects, members, and customers.
Watching video content upon the iPhone is fast becoming a hot trend, as out of the 6.4 million iPhone users in the United States, around 2.6 million people watched a video on their iPhone as of April 2009, according to a survey.
Companies can leverage the iPhone’s streaming capabilities in devising novel information sharing opportunities, and the Multicast solution helps them in promoting products and services without the time and expense of developing a specialized iPhone app. In addition, it also lets them deliver visually-oriented training materials to a mobile workforce and seamlessly incorporate rich media content into the existing mobile marketing initiatives.
The Multicast Media Suite provides users a host of features and tools for publishing rich content to the iPhone or iTouch. They can deploy the solution for convert the video content into MP4 files and uploading them to be played upon iPhone. Users can also create and manage a library of video and rich media assets through the suite, while its four-step workflow helps in creating live and on-demand projects.
The tool can further be helpful in offering the clients an access to content via a link that places an application onto the iPhone so that the organizations do not have to develop their own applets or make applets available via Apple’s (

According to Lou Schwartz, CEO, Multicast, the company is always looking for better, more effective ways to deliver messages from its clients to their audience. Schwartz said that with Multicast’s enhanced capability to deliver both live and on-demand content to the iPhone and iPod Touch, the company is extending the capability for publishing live and on demand video, audio and rich media presentations via the Internet to enable companies to reach out to their target audiences according to their preference.
In other news, last September, Multicast Media Technologies
provided a hosted Transcoding-as-a-Service or ‘TaaS’ solution for the Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server software, which was a decoupled component of Multicast's Internet Video Platform, Vidego.
