Extending on-the-go services to pet lovers, PetsMD.com, an online pet health information system based in Austin, Texas, reportedly announced its latest application – the PetsMD Symptom Checker iPhone Application.

 

PetsMD Symptom Checker iPhone (News - Alert) Application is an interactive tool with access to hundreds of medical symptoms a pet may be experiencing.

 

The company developed its Symptom Checker for the Apple (News - Alert) iPhone considering the huge demand from customers.

 

“Pet owners wanted to have the health information they need at their fingertips, at the park, the river, camping or wherever they take their pet,” Tina Cannon, president and CEO said in a statement

 

PetsMD developed Symptom Checker iPhone application in association with Phunware, a mobile application development company.

 

Mobile Symptom Checker helps pet owners be better informed about pet health and make right decisions at critical situations. By offering the health tips on the mobile, PetsMD gives a lot of freedom and flexibility to pet owners- even when they are out in a park or on a tour. Before taking their pets to a vet, they will be able to make the right decisions.

 

A single app includes info about cats and dogs, so users can get both services in just one application.  It works with or without 3G/ Wireless Fidelity.

 

“Quality vet approved content is important to our users and making PetsMD Symptom Checker app was a natural progression for us at PetsMD,” said Christi Scovel, chief veterinary editor, in a statement. “We want to be with pet lovers, wherever the adventure takes them.”

 

Officials said PetsMD gives users the tools to have a better dialogue with your vet, but does not replace professional diagnosis and treatment.

 

PetsMD Symptom Checker iPhone Application is available at Apple iTunes. The software is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch and requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later.
