Moreover, with the help of iPRTG, administrators can check the status of server availability when traveling, and also take prompt action to avoid the negative economic impact of system downtime. Officials said that the application fulfils all requirements of a modern network monitoring solution.
In addition, the application also provides immediate access to data about bandwidth and network usage. Company officials said that this enables administrators to make changes on the basis of these data in order to improve the performance and efficiency of the network.
iPRTG allows the iPhone to request all necessary monitoring data directly from the PRTG server. Officials said that the touch-screen navigation of the iPhone grants immediate access to all required details. Also, the intuitive operation makes it easy to make sensor adjustments, view messages, note analysis of alerts and charts and evaluate results.
The iPRTG was developed using PRTG’s open API, which has already been used by thousands of independent software developers worldwide, according to Dirk Paessler, CEO at Paessler.
“The iPhone has revolutionized mobile communications,” said Paessler, adding that today’s network administrators are always on the go. He said that iPRTG will allow network administrators to stay informed about the health of the network, diagnose issues and take the appropriate action from anywhere in the world.
“This new app makes PRTG Network Monitor portable, convenient and easy to use. Now you can have an entire network snapshot right in the palm of your hand, added Paessler.
Using PRTG Network Monitor, administrators can monitor bandwidth, availability and usage. The Paessler software continuously monitors the network and immediately reports any deviations from predefined monitoring parameters.
iPRTG is now available in the iTunes App Store. Officials said that iPRTG is sold by beyond content GmbH, a specialist in iPhone and Web applications, who developed iPRTG in collaboration with experts at Paessler.
