IPhone -EApps Hosting Intros Linux-Based E-mail and Collaboration Hosting Service

EApps Hosting has reportedly announced the launch of an Outlook compatible Enterprise Class Email hosting service using Scalix e-mail server.

A product of Xandros Corp., Scalix is a Linux-based e-mail, calendaring and messaging software. Touted as an alternative to Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange E-mail, Scalix has a decade long history of development that “mimics” Microsoft Exchange through standard and proprietary interfaces, said company officials.

In addition, Scalix also has an excellent Outlook user experience and compatibility with all other major mail clients and browsers. An outsourced solution, the Scalix based eApps Enterprise E-mail hosting service is said to reduce IT spending and avoid Microsoft server proliferation.

With eApps Enterprise E-mail hosting, users can achieve seamless Outlook compatibility. Officials said that the latest offering provides the Outlook experience users expect with push E-mail, PIM, group calendaring, free/busy services, public folders, delegation, and more.

In addition, eApps Enterprise E-mail hosting service offers real time synchronization of Email, Calendar, and Contacts. Officials said that smartphones and PDA devices, such as the Palm Treo / Centro, Apple iPhone and many more are fully compatible with this service.

Additionally, users can experience a stable e-mail environment, which keeps e-mail flowing and reduces technical hassles with a stable managed outsourced solution. And, each plan comes with free SPAM and Virus E-mail protection by Postini (News - Alert).

Plus, Officials said that eApps Enterprise Email hosting service integrates e-mail hosting with in-house custom applications with an open platform and APIs in an eApps Virtual Private Server.

EApps is offering Enterprise Class Email hosting in two forms. The first option is a Per User Per Month Business E-mail hosting approach and the second option is a Managed Enterprise E-mail hosting approach.

The company’s hosting approach is a value-added provider of managed hosting services for businesses and organizations. Earlier last month, company announced that Zend Server is available in all Standard Max CentOS 5 plans, and higher. Zend Server is a complete enterprise-ready Web Application Server for running and managing PHP applications.
