If you already have your hands on an
iPod Touch, or have been contemplating whether or not to go with the Touch or the iPhone (

JAJAH may have just helped you make up your mind.
The IP telecommunications company announced today a new capability that will allow the iPod Touch to become a fully functioning mobile phone.
This means users can still enjoy the music, media, entertainment and many other Apps they already have on their Touch, while now also being able to make phone calls as well as send SMS txt messages to anywhere in the world. Calls can either be made for up to 98 percent cheaper than existing mobile rates, or even for free.
This is especially important in the current economy, where saving on costs is key to consumers.
"Offering a turnkey solution provides iPod touch users with added value," said Jon
Arnold, principal analyst of J Arnold & Associates. "This is a prime example of how JAJAH's (

As long as users have a wireless connection, they can download the service from the Apple (

JAJAH's latest offering is available as a white label solution and allows carriers and non-carriers to offer a cutting edge service under their own brand that will help them gain customers and stay ahead in the highly competitive communications market.
JAJAH's IP platform also provides the management, billing and quality control features providers need in addition to the application.
"Millions of people around the world already have an iPod Touch in their pocket. With JAJAH's solution, any company can turn their customers' iPod Touch into a fully functioning mobile phone," said Trevor Healy (

"The device is particularly popular amongst students, who live in a world where Wi-Fi access is always available and, like everyone, they are looking to save costs, so this is a perfect solution."
JAJAH also said it is working on a new range of data communication services, applications and partnerships that will be announced in the coming months.
Earlier this month, the company also
announced it deployed
Acme Packet's Net-Net session border controllers (SBCs) to help protect their SIP application infrastructure and optimize the quality of their IP communications platform.
