IPhone -VoIP Logic Extends Interface for Cortex OSS to Apple OS

VoIP Logic, a provider of voice-over-IP (VoIP) managed services and solutions, announced a new set of mobile applications that facilitates easy integration with Apple’s (News - Alert) mobile operating system.

The new application is introduced as an interface extension to VoIP Logic’s (News - Alert) Cortex Operational Support Systems (OSS). Cortex is a middleware that allows carriers and service providers to provision, monitor and integrate VoIP services.

Cortex OSS provides a single point of integration for provisioning, customer service, billing and customer self-care across a growing range of industry-leading systems and user interfaces. It also allows them to easily add new communications technologies and innovative services to their communications offerings.

The new interface provides various features and functionalities for Apple iPhone (News - Alert) and iPod Touch. WithCortex Mobile, service providers using Cortex can manage and check billing status, review call history, modify phone settings, initiate calls, initiate conference calls, access Apple contacts, Broadsoft/Sylantro contacts, and check voicemail through a visual interface.

Another application,Broadsoft/SylantroMobile, is a brand-able Apple App-store application that service providers using the Broadsoft Broadworks platform, and/or the Sylantro Synergy (News - Alert) platform, can provide to their business and consumer end-users to manage and control their telephone features.

This application enables the customers to modify phone settings, initiate calls and conference calls, access Apple contacts, Broadsoft/Sylantro contacts, and check voicemail through a visual interface.

“Worldwide iPhone adoption continues to grow at a staggering rate; Apple has done an excellent job of bringing the power of the networked PC to the palm-top,” said Micah Singer (News - Alert), CEO, VoIP Logic, in a statement.

“It makes sense that business and consumer users would want to conveniently manage their telephone presence while working remotely,” Singer added. “The value VoIP Logic brings to carriers and service providers with these applications and extensions is getting them into the game quicker, with a more experienced team and with a lower total cost of ownership.”

VoIP Logic offers carriers and service providers a managed services approach to a VoIP launch, giving maximum control and flexibility without heavy upfront capitalization or knowledge accumulation. Headquartered in Williamstown, MA, VoIP Logic has hosting hubs in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
