IPhone -Smartphones Tech Launches iWallpaper for iPhone

Smartphones Technologies have launched the iWallpaper, a new application that will allow iPhone (News - Alert) users to legally download and install wallpaper onto their iPhones. Until now, there was no legal way to get wallpapers for the iPhone-other than using personal photos or downloading unlicensed images from the web. Smartphones Technologies (News - Alert) is a mobile content publisher that specializes in college sports content on mobile devices, based out of Jacksonville, Florida.

According to Mike Merrill, the founder and CEO of Smartphones, “Although the open nature of the iPhone lets people download the content they find online, it’s not without risk. At best, downloading content from other web sites is illegal. At worst, downloads may contain spy ware or viruses. Downloading from iWallpaper is fast, easy and safe, and it’s only $0.99 per download.” Smartphones began publishing wallpapers six years ago and the main focus was on North America.

The customer can download a wallpaper for only $0.99 in a safe, easy and legal manner by using iWallpaper. There is no risk of spyware, malware or tracking cookies. iWallpaper also has an extensive library of wallpapers from about 100 artists, designers and photographers from all across the world. The Smartphones content library is available through more than 30 carriers and content providers from around the world. Since all of these images are optimized for iPhone, they look great on the phone. In order to get iWallpaper, a user has to go to the iTunes store and search for iWallpaper.

Merrill also stated, “Apple (News - Alert) has done an incredible job of creating a new mobile ecosystem. The App store gives large and small developers equal access to millions of Apple fans on multiple wireless carriers worldwide.” Smartphones has access to wireless operators all over the world since it is distributing iWallpaper in Apple’s new App Store. iWallpaper is localized in five languages.

Smartphones publishes ring tones and wallpapers to wireless carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltel (News - Alert) and Boost. Smartphones has more than 500 full track college songs on iTunes which can be converted to ring tones for the iPhone.
