iscoord Launches Is-Phone 3.0 Mobile VoIP App on iTunes

VoIP and Mobile VoIP have never been more popular than it is right now. A new study was just released that shows that mobile VoIP especially is seeing a ridiculous explosion in adoption, with 20 million new VoIP users signing up in a matter of months. It is then no surprise that new VoIP companies and application developers are also popping up at ridiculous rates. The newest mobile VoIP app developer to come to Apple's iTunes store is Iscoord.

Hoping to find the same kind of success that a program like Skype has managed to do on the iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad, iscoord's new mobile VoIP app, is-phone, will allow users to make both video and audio calls using either the 3G network or their Wi-Fi network on all models of the iPhone and the iPad. There certainly isn't a glut of mobile VoIP apps on the market currently, but iscoord (News - Alert) feels like their third iteration of the is-phone can handle the competition.

It should be said that with the massive amount of people who are looking for VoIP apps, preferences become less about what an app can do and more about how they manage to accomplish it. Some may not like the way Skype (News - Alert) handles the many things it can do and could prefer the is-phone 3.0's interface or ease of use.

VoIP has become so popular that school systems are even starting to pick up on it. That could be another opening for the is-phone and its intuitive graphic display. iscoord says that the application will allow people to make high-quality video calls to any video hardphone or softphone that is currently out there on the market. The is-phone mobile phone app will allow interoperation with IP PBX (News - Alert), Softswitch and IP-Multimedia Subsystems (IMS) platforms.

iscoord CEO Roger Schneider laid out why his company decided to launch another mobile VoIP app. “Our customers and partners are looking for an easy unified communications (UC) solution and iscoord offers a wide range of UC softphone clients that simplify communications for on-the-go and remote users by extending the features of a desk phone to a range of smartphones and tablets.”
