iPhone App Helps You Pick Favorite Presidential Candidate

Choosing who you want to be President can be an incredibly tough decision based on the year. For this year in particular, deciding who you merely want to be the Republican candidate is posing quite the challenge. There may not be such a large field of candidates that all still have at least a modicum of a chance the way this particular field does. Even Ron Paul, who is usually not much more than an afterthought, has even managed to get a celebrity endorsement for his campaign.

As technology continues to grow in the 21st Century, more and more companies are trying to find a way to bring the next big thing to a growing number of people who are following the election using their browser or mobile device. Google (News - Alert), for one, has come up with a kind of hub that will be focused exclusively on the upcoming elections.

Now there is an iPhone (News - Alert) app that can help you choose who you should support, based on your own opinions. “Candidates” is an app that will ask you a series of questions on a wide variety of topics that usually mean the most to a voter. From abortion to illegal immigration, you will be able to answer the questions and then with the slide bar that is below each question rank how important these topics are to you.

Once you have finished the quiz, Candidates will display a list of the current candidates, with rankings of how close to your opinion each presidential candidate is. While this would usually be good enough, Candidates wants to do more than just pair you up with a presidential front runner. While you are taking the quiz, the app will also provide links to Wikipedia that will allow you to do more research on a particular issue, before you decide just how important it is to you.

Finally, the app also wants people to get more involved in campaigns. Once you have chosen the candidate that best fits your views, the app will provide contact information for the campaign offices in your area. This app really could help the young and tech-savvy rediscover or discover a new passion for politics in America.
