Bracketron's iRoom iDock Wall Mount Solution for iPad Arrives in North America

Bracketron, the leading supplier of universal mounting solutions and accessories for many of today's most popular mobile and handheld technologies, including GPS, smartphone, iPad/tablet, MP3, satellite radio and PC, is bringing iRoom iDock – the first powered and motorized in-wall mounting solution for iPad – to the North American market.

iRoom iDock includes both power and composite audio internal connections. With the help of patented motorized docking system, the mount opens and closes to securely store the iPad. The opening mechanism features an invisible proximity sensor. When activated, the sensor recognizes the presence of the user and switches the iDock to the open position allowing him/ her to insert the iPad. After ten seconds the iPad intake closes again automatically.

The proximity sensor can also be disabled to lock the iPad permanently in place.

When the iPad is inserted into the dock, the integrated audio output can be connected to existing wired sound systems, making it possible for the iPad to be used as an audio source. The iDock also automatically charges the iPad battery when mounted. If you experience a power outage, the iDock simply opens automatically and releases the iPad for removal.

The iDock is available in portrait and landscape models. It can be flush-mounted to seamlessly and stylishly integrate the iPad into any room. In addition to three color options including brushed aluminum, piano black and opal white, the mount’s faceplate can also be available in any customized color to suit the customer’s interior. iDock landscape model is ideal for viewing movies, presentations and photos on the iPad, its maker informed in the release.

Compatible with both iPad and iPad 2, iDock Landscape and iDock Portrait are available now through Bracketron, the official and exclusive distributor for iRoom iDock in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The models also contain easy-to-install rails and adapters that allow users to mount any version of the iPad in the dock.

“The iRoom iDock is an elegant solution that fully integrates the iPad into a room’s design concept. The iDock is ideal for both residential and commercial settings, and will turn any room into a truly sophisticated and connected space,” Mark Mandel, executive vice president of Bracketron explained in a statement.

In March 2011, Bracketron announced a versatile new stand for the iPad. Called Twist360, this stylish, yet durable stand features a protective hard case with a handgrip that can rotate 360º or be flipped into infinite positions for use as a desktop or lap stand.
