An application for iPhone (News - Alert) and Android smartphones "SwyxIt! Mobile” has been launched by Swyx, a vendor of Unified Communications for SMEs.

A single contact number will be now provided to SwyxWare users with the new app. Users can use the Swyx-IT soft client on their iPhone or Android (News - Alert) device to receive and make calls. Detailed information for each contact will be also displayed such as status, phone numbers, e-mail address and/or picture.

The app also features the "Fast Dial" function in which the number is identified before the actual call setup. This allows call set-up to be 50 percent faster as the IP connection to the server is used to identify the number.

A GPRS, 3G or WiFi (News - Alert) connection to the central Swyx server is the basis for SwyxIt! Mobile. Users have full access to global and personal phone books after registration. Users also have full access to their individual call and redial lists.

Users will also be able to access presence information. Apart from knowing the current status of other colleagues, users can update their own status via their smartphones. A single number concept is used by all outgoing and incoming calls and, therefore, a single number can be used to reach SwyxIt! Mobile users.

SwyxWare 2011 R2 with SwyxWare SwyxWebAccess 2011 R2 and corresponding SwyxMobile licenses are the prerequisites for using SwyxIt! Mobile. Users can avail the SwyxIt! Mobile at Apple's (News - Alert) App Store and the Android Market.
