Bipper AS Launches bSafe App

Bipper AS, a Norway -based company has unveiled the company’s free personal safety app bSafe worldwide on iPhone and Android devices, and has announced that it will soon go live on BlackBerry (News - Alert) devices.

The app has been a success in select European countries and now with the release worldwide, bSafe is ready to better offer peace-of-mind to users everywhere.

Since its launch, the app has become one of the most downloaded apps for the iPhone in Norway. In the past week, the top spot for iPhone apps was between bSafe, Angry Birds and Facebook (News - Alert) apps.

Users can download this app on their smartphone for free, giving them a way to instantly reach their selected contacts or Guardians when help is needed.  When the one-touch SOS (News - Alert) is employed, Guardians are alerted with an emergency text message that includes the sender's exact location and can even place a direct call to one specified Guardian.

The app also boasts one touch activation of the alarm with GPS functionality, as well as a fake call can be also initiated by the user if they become scared in a certain situation. The app also features Risk Mode and Timer Mode and while the user’s position is tracked in real-time in the Risk Mode option, alarms are automatically activated in Timer Mode.

Founder and CEO Silje Vallestad said in a statement, "bSafe is free, easy and it provides tremendous peace-of-mind.  It is the one app we want everyone to have and hope they never have to use.  If you are getting or giving a new smartphone this holiday season, bSafe is the most important app you can install."

Bipper was the company’s first award-winning product which has received international recognition as parents are able to monitor and control mobile usage of their kids through the innovative app.
