Gorilla Logic Releases Latest Version of FoneMonkey for iOS

Gorilla Logic, a provider of enterprise application development services, released the latest version of FoneMonkey for iOS. The newest FoneMonkey automated testing tool for iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad applications comes packed with new UIWebView support and recorded speed playback features for iOS devices.

According to Gorilla Logic, FoneMonkey for iOS is a functional testing tool for the iPhone providing for the interactive creation, editing and playback of automation scripts that exercise an application's user interface.

Using FoneMonkey for iOS, one can create suites of tests that automate performing user operation sequences and verifying results. FoneMonkey for iOS is designed to support developer as well as QA testing, and FoneMonkey tests can be easily incorporated into continuous integration environments.

Some of the new features incorporated into the latest version of FoneMonkey are: capability to execute HTML Selenese scripts within a UIWebView; scripts can be played back at recorded speeds that helps developers realize increased productivity; console options to set playback speed/timeout from the console; commands retry until timeout so the WaitFor command no longer is necessary when waiting for data; and more.

Officials with the company ascertained that the most recent release of FoneMonkey for iOS adds several key enhancements based on requests from the open source community of iOS developers. Gorilla Logic is committed to meeting the needs of the open source community through frequent updates to FoneMonkey for iOS to provide developers and QA team members with rich features that help them ensure their testing is completed faster and with more accuracy.

With the latest version, testers with no Objective-C knowledge can use JavaScript as an alternative to extend FoneMonkey-generated tests. This allows them to easily create tests and suites of tests in Javascript. In addition, data driving capabilities allow developers to create CSV databases to drive tests with unique data per each test.

In other news, Gorilla Logic recently announced that FlexMonkey was a winner in the Flex Testing category in the third annual Automated Testing Institute's (ATI) Automation Honors, the industry's original set of awards dedicated to software test automation.

In an effort to recognize excellence in the discipline of test automation, the awards rely on industry practitioners to identify which tools are the best, which have the most significant upgrades and/or which are setting the trends that will help take software test automation to the next level in the coming year.
