LogMeIn (News - Alert) announced that it has published an update to its LogMeIn Ignition for its iPad/iPhone app that synergizes cloud services and remote access into a single application.
In a release Andrew Burton (News - Alert), SVP Products at LogMeIn said, “The anywhere, anytime, any device benefits of remote access and cloud services have always been closely aligned. With the introduction of My Cloud Bank, we’re delivering the best of both worlds, giving users intuitive, single point access to their files wherever they are stored.”
“We see it as an important step in expanding the value of remote access and the cloud to all of a user’s digital information, a virtual insurance policy for always having important files at your finger tips,” Burton added.
The update to the app also features integration with Dropbox and Google (News
- Alert) Docs aside from offering iOS users the ability to quickly and seamlessly view, copy, transfer and save files between their mobile devices, personal or work computers, and popular cloud services.
Company sources added that this will allow iPad and iPhone owners to access all of their digital files from anywhere with an Internet connection. They also need not bother about getting their file into the cloud. Users of LogMeIn Ignition for iPad/iPhone users can benefit from the new cloud integration capabilities via a free update.
Officials explained that the LogMeIn Ignition for iPad/iPhone app will enable users to remotely access PCs and Macs from an iOS device. This will help them remotely view and control computers or simply access the computers’ file systems.
Users of Ignition will also benefit a lot from the newly launched My Cloud Bank. They can transfer files and folders between remote computers and the cloud while traveling besides being able to view files and folders on their computers and popular cloud storage services.
They can also sync services like Dropbox (News - Alert) and Google Docs on their iPad and/or iPhone and save files from the cloud or remote computers on to an iOS device, added officials.
Ignition was introduced for the iPhone in the beginning but has been extended to other major smartphone and tablet platforms. It now includes the iPad, Android (News - Alert) devices and also the Amazon Kindle Fire.
