Apple Embracing Global Expansion This Month

Back in 1999, Betrand Piccard and Brian Jones became the first pair to travel around the world via hot air balloon in a record-breaking 19 days, 21 hours and 55 minutes; however, Apple leaves these guys biting the dust, as it only needs a matter of a few days to introduce the new iPhone (News - Alert) 5 to an additional 50 countries worldwide.

The company revealed today that the newest addition to its prized iPhone family will launch in more than 50 additional countries this month, starting December 7 and going through the 21st. This news should come as no surprise due to the fact that over five million devices were sold during its opening weekend alone, and according to BGR, analysts believe that customers’ unrelenting demand for Apple’s (News - Alert) latest and greatest will perhaps bring about its most profitable period in history for iPhone sales during the holiday quarter.

In a statement, the company explains that beginning this Friday, December 7, the iPhone 5 will be available in South Korea, which will then extend to Brazil, Russia and Taiwan.

One week later on December 14, it will be welcomed in Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Ecuador, Grenada, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldova, Montenegro, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

And lastly, the iPhone 5 will be available on Friday, December 21 in Barbados, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Egypt, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Tunisia, Uganda and Vietnam.

Individuals across the world are anticipating getting their hands on the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever, which boasts decreased power consumption, a completely redesigned appearance featuring a new four-inch Retina display and an Apple-designed A6 chip for extraordinarily fast performance and Wi-Fi.

Right now, the iPhone 5 is available in 47 countries worldwide, including the U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and the U.K. At a suggested retail price of $199 (U.S.) for the 16BG model, $299 for the 32GB model and $399 for the 64BG model, the iPhone 5 comes in either black or white and silver color schemes and will be available through the Apple Online store.
