10 Features on Apple Users Wishlist for the iPhone 5

With the constant innovative pieces of technology emerging, it is hard to predict what will be next. Apple changed the entire smartphone genre with the introduction of the iPhone (News - Alert) in 2007, and five years later, Apple supporters are anxiously anticipating a new iPhone, rumored to be released between June and October 2012. Although nobody outside the Apple (News - Alert) HQ circle truly knows what the iPhone 5 will look like or feature, it most definitely hasn’t stopped us from dreaming about all the possible features in Apple’s next phone.

Due to Apple’s secretiveness and its ability to keep the features and specs for the iPhone 5 a mystery to the outside world, a number of rumors, reports, and recently granted patents could give us a direction as to what we’ll expect from Apple’s next iPhone.

Additionally, there has been a lot of talk stirring up about people’s wishes on what they hope can be improved prior to the release of the new iPhone. Research by a money saving website in the UK has revealed the top 10 “most wanted” features according to consumers, with a ‘stronger screen’ being the most desired upgrade by members of the public.

A money saving website in the UK carried out a poll to find out what British citizens will be looking for in the new innovative model; and what they would expect from the smartphone that the previous iPhone 4 was lacking. VoucherCodesPro.co.uk polled 1,652 people in the UK and asked them what they would like to see in the new iPhone 5 if or when it was announced later this year. Not all respondents were current iPhone owners, but all those taking part claimed to have an interest in the next Apple handset.

All the respondents were asked what features or upgrades they would like the next iPhone model to have from a list of answers. The top ten most desired features were as follows:

1. Stronger screen: 93 percent

2. USB port: 86 percent

3. Better camera: 81 percent

4. Bigger screen: 77 percent

5. Larger storage options: 64 percent

6. More lightweight: 62 percent

7. Higher resolution Retina Display: 53 percent

8. Faster processor: 39 percent

9. Stronger structure (not inc. screen): 24 percent

10. Different color options: 19 percent

It doesn’t come as a shock to many that when word gets out about the release of an upgraded iPhone, people will begin to emphasize their wishes of what needs to be improved and what shouldn’t be incorporated in the new model.

George Charles, marketing director at VoucherCodesPro.co.uk, said, “There are always rumors surrounding tech launches, whether it’s a new phone that’s due to be announced or a new tablet computer. As soon as the next iPhone is announced, you can bet your bottom dollar people will already then be speculating about what the iPhone after that would have.”

“A stronger screen would definitely be a good move for Apple, as just speaking from experience; the current iPhone model is prone to cracked screens! Myself and several people I know have experience this, so it obviously needs addressing. It will be interested to see, when the next iPhone is announced, what it will offer consumers. Only good things I hope,” he added.
