Leading Mobile Company Com2uS Releases Impressive 2Q Stats
SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--
Com2uS announced its performance of Q2 2012: its sales increased 158% to
KRW22 billion, its operating profit up 905% to KRW6.8 billion, and its
net profit 490% to KRW6 billion over the previous year. The company
upgraded its business plan for 2012 to KRW74.1 billion, up 36% from the
beginning of the year.
Although Com2uS has continuously grown over the years, its performance
of the second half exceeded the industry expectations. It became the
first Korean mobile game company whose quarterly sales exceeded KRW20
billion, the best quarterly performance ever. As the sales increased,
the fixed cost rate has been lowered as development workforce was
reinforced, and the operating profit marin went up to 31%, which is
quite remarkable.
Com2uS released 11 games on the iTunes App Store including 'Inotia 4'
and 'Swing Shot' in the second quarter, and the sales of smart phone
games were KRW19.9 billion, up 325% over the previous year. Domestic
sales out of total sales were KRW14.5 billion, up 224% over the previous
year, and its overseas sales were KRW7.5 billion, up 85% over the
previous year. Com2uS performed well both at home and abroad.
In particular, its own mobile game social platform 'Com2uS Hub' saw its
global subscribers exceed 30 million, forming an extensive user network
that will give wings to its attacks on the global mobile game market.
The number of DAU (Daily Active Users) of 'Tiny Farm' exceeded 1
million, and the influence of its major social games is increasing.
"Our preemptive investments to secure mid-to long-term competitiveness
began to produce results in the second quarter," said Mr. Baek-Yong
Choi, CFO of Com2uS. "In the second half we will release 20 or so new
games including '9 Innings: Pro Baseball 2013,' 'Pocket Heroes' and
'Golf Star' for smart phones. We will achieve our new annual sales goal
of KRW74.1 billion, and further improve the performance of 'Com2uS Hub,'
thereby reinforcing our position as a global leading mobile game
publisher."
