BRIEF: Police: Man Planted Camera In Avon Company's Bathroom
AVON, May 25, 2012 (The Hartford Courant - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
An employee at Apple Rehab secretly recorded people using the toilet with a work-issued iPhone that he planted in a tissue box in April, police said.
The employee, Joseph Boucher, 36, was arrested by warrant this week and is charged with three counts of voyeurism. He worked in the IT department at the company's office at 21 Waterville Road, police said.
He was released after posting $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Hartford in June.
Police were called on April 25 after a female employee found a tissue box on the toilet with a tiny peep hole and an iPhone inside.
The peep hole and the phone's camera lens were aimed toward the toilet and bathroom area. The phone was actively recording and streaming live video to Boucher's company-issued computer, police said.
It appears April 25 was the only day Boucher spied on bathroom users, police said. Police searched his home April 26 and seized the phone, computers and other items, police said.
