Mrs. Judd's Games Releases Chalk Walk, The First iPad Game That Teaches Young Children The Pincer Grip

Today's children enter kindergarten less prepared to learn to write. Increased screen time has meant less time drawing and coloring, leaving fine motor skills underdeveloped. Chalk Walk, just released on the iPad by Mrs. Judd Games, has 'pincer-grip action' that exercises young fingers as they trace colorful, clever lines along unique sidewalk images, picking up letters and literacy skills along the way. Wednesday, May 2nd Chalk Walk will be available to download free.

Mrs. Judd's Games is founded by Frances Judd, who taught kindergarten for 25 years at Francis W. Parker School. She is a long-time toy designer and educator with specialties in early childhood education and special education. Working alongside the cutting-edge development team at Chicago custom game and app design company KBooM! Games, Mrs. Judd is using technology to solve many of the educational problems it is often accused of creating.

"In the classroom, we were beginning to see that children were missing soe key foundational skills. As a game designer, I saw an opportunity to turn my best lessons into iPad apps that put those foundational skills back in," Mrs. Judd opined.
