BRIEF: Man robbed on Pacific campus

STOCKTON, Jan 27, 2012 (The Record - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Two men robbed a 22-year-old man on the University of the Pacific footbridge by the north Calaveras River levee about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police reported. The man was walking east on the bike path when a man grabbed him by the shoulder and pointed a gun at him, according to the Stockton Police Department.

The second robber served as a lookout as the victim had his wallet and iPod stolen, police said.

Both men escaped, according to authorities. Officers for University of the Pacific located a man at Pershing Way and Pacific Avenue shortly after the robbery, but the victim could not identify him as one of the robbers, said Lt. Ivan Rose of the Stockton Police Department.

The robber with the gun was described as an 18-year-old man standing 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. His accomplice was also described as an 18-year-old man.
